Extra Activities
Orewa Primary School provides a strong programme of cultural activities with a range of opportunities for students to become involved in to enrich their education.
Dance – held weekly during the lunch hour by a professional dance tutor.
After-school Art – Terms 1 to 4. Weekly tuition by skilled teacher.
After-school Science – Term 1 to 4 (different Year levels each term)
After-school Drama – Terms 2 and 4
Band / Instrumental – these groups practise weekly and perform for school assemblies
Cultural Group – this group practises weekly and performs for a variety of community groups
Junior & Senior Choirs – these groups practise weekly and are involved in school and community performances.
Kidz Can Music – weekly tuition is available during school hours. (Guitar & Keyboard).
Kidz Can Drama – meets Tuesday lunchtimes.
Violin / Brass Tuition / Singing – private lessons available at school
Gymnastics – practises in Term 3 for North Harbour school competition.
ICAS Competitions – English, Science, Computer Skills, Mathematics, Writing & Spelling.
Thinking Caps – Maths and Literacy tuition – weekly tuition is available during school hours on Mondays.
